Place Your Comments on Claims in the Insurance Industry
Insurance is something of a strange commodity in that people don’t really want or look forward to purchasing it but thank our lucky stars when we need to claim. How was your claim experience and who is best at providing a quality insurance claims service?

I agree with the comments about not wanting insurance but I have experienced having to make a claim after a flood and was glad I was covered. The only downside I found was the fact I had to speak to an overseas call centre and it took twice as long to explain my circumstances!

The claims process is a strange one, no one seems to deal with their own claims anymore, they all seem to be outsourced and unless there is a personal injury claim involved they don’t really want to help you!

Pauline T and AJH - We agree, there seems to an attitude in the insurance arena of do anything to get the customer but once you’ve got them, well who cares. We’ve heard great stories about insurance providers using third party companies to deal with their after sales insurance claims because when there is a possible injury claim involved they can get a great kick back of hundreds of pounds. The trouble is when there isn’t an injury claim involved the customer gets treated terribly

Most insurance intermediaries now treat the claims process as a process they dont want to get involved in. Indeed many companies now outsource their claims departments to third parties who are not insurance minded, all they really want is the lucrative personal injury claims. There are many claims management companies operating around the country but they are simply not focusing on the alround claims services that need to be implimented for car insurance customers
