Car Insurance Aggregators
The insurance aggregators have taken the car insurance industry by storm, whipping the marketing carpet from under the feet of many car insurance companies and motor insurance brokers. Are they a good additional to the market or not.

It depends on which camp you see it from. As a consumer the car insurance aggregators are a new sensation allowing massive choice and disclosure for little input. From the other side of the fence we have a problem because even if you are fortunate to be on an aggregator panel you have to come out top to be even in the running but to get to the top you have to reveal your cheapest price from the outset which is causing a problem with many peoples bottom lines

This is just the beginning of a massive revolution in the motor insurance arena. Insurance brokers who once relied on the art of selling and broking the best price they could get have simply seen this art go straight out the window. The car insurance aggregators have taken away the element of allowing the broker to barter the best price they can out of the client. Nowadays its a real cut throat business and the only people making real money are the car insurance aggregators who command a healthy fixed premium from every policy that is sold through their services

When there was only one or two car insurance aggregators operating it didnt really have a massive impact. Our problem now as motor insurance brokers is the fact there are more and more car insurance aggregators coming onto the scene and you feel obliged to deal with them all where you can. The problem is, the public are using two or three at a time and then we have the arguement as to who gets the sale commission because the consumer has actually found us on all the aggregators, this is only going to get worse as time goes by

The price comparison market is really big business and what a business it is. The car insurance aggregators win everytime because they effectively get the sales commission from someone on the panel who has sold the actual policy. I dont know how much they get but I bet it isnt just a few quid.

Price comparison is very much big business, we have mentioned on a number of occassions that the car insurance aggregators command good bunce, some up to fifty quid per sale that comes off the back of their websites. This is good money considering they dont actually have to sell the product and believe you me they are making more bottom line profit than the insurance companies and motor insurance brokers who do actually sell the insurance. Whilst commissions are pitched around this mark there is a chance the motor insurance industry can survive but there have been talks of car insurance aggregators looking to hike prices higher. Believe me boys, you do this and you are going to shoot yourself in the foot big time
